We set off to Kastelruth, a picturesque village with pretty facades, along an old driveway. On our way we’ll admire traditional farms with their barns and pass through a varied vegetation way down to the Eisack Valley. Wild chestnut and cherry trees line our path and the sunny location and mild climate allow fruit and wine to ripen. We pass orchards, vineyards and flowering meadows until we reach St. Oswald where we enjoy a lunch break with typical South Tyrolean törggelen. We continue our tour up to the Aichach ruins, next to the stately Pflegerhof farm, and head back to the starting point.
